This is the Text Attributes tab which is available in the Paint selection screen. Text Attributes are actually part of Paint Attributes, that is, every Paint layer has associated with it a font and font attributes.
The drop down box at the top lets you select a font. The horizontal slider controls the text size which you can see in the preview window. The checkboxes allow you to control certain characteristics of the font. The standard fonts (Default, Monospace, Serif, Sans Serif) honor these attributes, but most of the other fonts do not.
An IMPORTANT Note About Stroke Width and Drawing Style
It is important to understand that Stroke Width and Drawing Style do affect how a font is rendered. For example, all three of these Text Paths were created with the same font (Caprice) and the same font size (148.0). However- 1st: Stroke Width: 4, Drawing Style: Stroke
- 2nd: Stroke Width: 4, Drawing Style: Stroke and Fill
- 3rd: Stroke Width: 16, Drawing Style: Stroke and Fill
If your text isn’t displaying the way you think it should, make sure you check the other Paint Attributes associated with your Color Set.
